Medius, Big Hero Snitch

In 2001, Sherron Watkins exposed Enron, one of the biggest corporate frauds in history. Watkins wasn’t thanked for speaking out. Instead, she was labelled a snitch and ostracised.

The perception of whistleblowing has hardly changed in two decades. Despite their importance, many whistleblowers are victimised simply for speaking out.

Fight or Flight partnered with Medius, a financial fraud software company, to help whistleblowers reclaim the language used against them. Labelling whistleblowers as traitors or snitches doesn’t just silence them, it frightens others from stepping up in the future. Our campaign, Big Hero Snitch, flipped the narrative, reclaiming these terms to celebrate whistleblowers as heroes.

Big Hero Snitch encouraged our audience of finance professionals to ask a vital question: how can we prevent fraud if whistleblowers are too scared to report it?  A series of social and OOH ads inspired the audience to think differently about whistleblowers.

Our multi-award winning campaign earned significant tier one coverage in Forbes, Financial Times, Fortune, and The Wall Street Journal, the Times, plus key trade outlets. A targeted webinar also generated $234,000 in new business leads.
